Its approximate length is 420 meters and, together with the Mar Bella, it is part of the beaches that were created when the coastal facade of Barcelona was definitively recovered.It is, therefore, the result of the urban renewal that took place on the occasion of the Barcelona Olympic Games in 1992.

Users of the Nova Mar Bella beach are mostly residents of the Sant Martí district, which is where the beach is located, which is considered one of the quietest in the city.
