Bunkers del Carmel

The Carmel Bunkers, located at the top of Turó de la Rovira, are vestiges of an anti-aircraft battery built during the Spanish Civil War in 1937. Originally, they served to defend Barcelona from air attacks. Today, they offer 360-degree panoramic views of the city, making them a popular meeting point for tourists and locals alike.

This place, beyond its historical value, is famous for its sunsets.The combination of the golden light over the buildings of Barcelona and the Mediterranean Sea creates a magical atmosphere, perfect for "instagrammable" photographs. The most photographed spots include the ruins of the bunkers with the Sagrada Familia in the background.

The current atmosphere is vibrant, although sometimes crowded, especially at sunset. It's common to see people picnicking, listening to music, or just enjoying the view.Because it has become a popular place, the authorities have implemented a closing time of 19:30 to protect the environment and the tranquility of the neighbors.

To get there, you can opt for a scenic walk or use public transport. Although there are no bunkers as such, the ruins of the military installations add a historical touch to the place. There is a small museum, the MUHBA Turó de la Rovira, which offers information about the history of the site.
