Poncio, located at Plaza del Niño Jesús, 3, in Madrid’s Retiro neighborhood, is a personal project by renowned Andalusian chef Willy Moya. This establishment is described as a hybrid between a restaurant and a tapas bar, offering a dining experience that blends haute cuisine with the concept of contemporary tapas.
Poncio’s culinary concept features a menu without the traditional distinction between first and second courses, inviting diners to share and enjoy a variety of tapas and small plates made with high-quality ingredients and creative touches. Highlights include dishes with Andalusian influences and international touches, as well as a carefully curated wine selection—with a special focus on sherry—under the guidance of sommelier Juan Antonio Suanzes.
Poncio’s atmosphere is warm and casual, with an indoor dining room decorated in natural tones and soft lighting, as well as a heated outdoor terrace. The restaurant features an open kitchen, which adds transparency and dynamism to the dining experience. It has been awarded a “Solete” by the Repsol Guide and is listed in the Michelin Guide, establishing itself as a culinary landmark in Madrid.
