The Reina Sofía Palace of the Arts, an architectural gem designed by Santiago Calatrava, stands as a cultural landmark in Valencia. Opened in 2005, this majestic building is part of the avant-garde City of Arts and Sciences, establishing Valencia as an international leader in the performing arts.

This multifunctional cultural center is dedicated to promoting opera, concerts, dance, and theater, and is home to the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana. Its design, characterized by seemingly random volumes unified by two symmetrical concrete shells and an imposing steel roof, ranks it among the world’s most iconic opera houses.

The Palau de les Arts offers an accessible cultural experience, allowing the public to move freely through its spaces, as admission is only required to access the auditoriums. In addition to its artistic programming, the building itself is a work of art, featuring permanent installations by Calatrava, including murals and ceramic bas-reliefs.
