BAR PAYSANDÚ

Bar Paysandú, located at Av. Gral Rondeau 1549, is a historic café-bar in the heart of Montevideo, with more than 100 years of history.Founded in 1912 as a bar, warehouse and delicatessen, it retains its original poster, counter and floors from the last century, offering an experience that evokes the golden era of downtown cafés, when it was a meeting point for many generations.

Currently, the Paysandú Bar has been revitalized with a concept of bar, coffee and charcuterie, maintaining its essence of a neighborhood bar.Its gastronomic offer includes classic cocktails, small plates of cold cuts and cheeses, and a reinterpreted menu with classic Rioplatense dishes, such as malfatti, Milanese on horseback or eggplant. They also stand out for their Neapolitan sourdough pizzeria, made in a clay oven, and a varied offer of breakfasts and cocktails.

The atmosphere of the Paysandú Bar is informal and welcoming, ideal for lunch, dinner with friends or just to relax.It offers outdoor seating, and inside, high chairs.
