About Dos Pebrots

Dos Pebrots isn’t your average tapas restaurant; it’s a laboratory of edible history. Located in the heart of the vibrant Raval neighborhood, this project was born from a premise that’s as ambitious as it is fun: to research, reinterpret, and cook the origins of Mediterranean culinary culture. Drawing on ancient texts, the team decontextualizes haute cuisine to serve it in an informal, roguish tavern setting with a touch of cheek. Located at Carrer del Doctor Dou, 19, in the heart of the Ciutat Vella district, it occupies the space of a former Raval wine cellar. It has the atmosphere of a sophisticated tavern: wooden tables, a large bar where you can watch the kitchen in action, and traditional tiles; it’s noisy, lively, international, and extremely cosmopolitan.

Tips

Traditional techniques and preserved foods: masters of homemade curing, pickling, and salting. Historical signature dishes: Roman garum, piglet teats, 14th-century homemade sausages, and Arabic-style marinated dishes. Grill and charcoal: whole fish with Mediterranean seasonings and direct-grilled meats. Minimally processed natural wines and revived Catalan grape varieties. Interactive and educational menu: each dish specifies its historical origin. The staff explains the story behind every bite, turning the dining experience into a chronological cultural journey.
