About Da Long Yi Hot Pot
Da Long Yi Hot Pot is the first—and, to date, only—hot pot restaurant in Bilbao, offering an authentic Chinese culinary experience in the heart of the Abando neighborhood. This restaurant stands out for its interactive concept, where diners cook fresh ingredients directly in boiling broths right in the center of their table, turning the meal into a dynamic and participatory activity.
The restaurant offers a wide variety of broths, including tomato, mushroom, and pork bone options, as well as different levels of spiciness, allowing guests to customize their experience. The menu features premium meats, fresh vegetables, mushrooms, noodles, seafood, and gyoza, among other typical Asian dishes. A highlight is its self-service sauce station, where customers can create their own blends with ingredients such as soy sauce, sesame oil, cilantro, and garlic, with suggested recipes for those who are unfamiliar with the process.
The ambiance at Da Long Yi Hot Pot is described as refined, with decorative details that visually transport diners to China, creating an atmosphere that blends a special occasion with casual fun. It’s an ideal spot for groups of friends or families seeking a unique and interactive dining experience. In addition, it features a robot waiter, a distinctive touch that adds a modern twist to the experience. The staff is friendly and offers detailed explanations about how the hot pot works to first-time customers.
Tips
Start with low-spicy broths if you're not used to it, as even the minimum level can be intense.
Take advantage of the sauce season to experiment and create your own mix; there are suggested recipes if you need inspiration.
Let the broth cook while you eat; the longer it boils, the more complex and tasty it will become.
