About Al kostat
Discovering a Michelin-recommended restaurant hidden behind the door of a residential building right in the heart of Barcelona is an experience that starts off with a touch of magic. Al Kostat is the casual, laid-back sister restaurant of renowned chef Jordi Vilà, located right next to its Michelin-starred parent restaurant, Alkimia (with which it shares part of the kitchen). It’s a restaurant without unnecessary pretension that focuses on brilliant signature cuisine, grounded in respect for the roots of Catalan gastronomy. Located at Ronda de Sant Antoni, 41, tucked away inside a traditional entranceway in the Eixample district; it exudes a clandestine, intimate, and exclusive aura, with stately architecture and understated, welcoming interior design.
Michelin DNA and a kitchen shared with Alkimia: technical skill, meticulous attention to ingredients, and precision in the execution of dishes, all presented in a more intimate and relaxed setting. Rooted in Catalan cuisine with signature touches: impeccable stocks, soul-soothing stews, seasonal local produce, and subtle avant-garde accents. No pretension, maximum flavor: the priority is the intensity of flavor, texture, and balance on the palate. An ideal menu for sharing several small plates in the center of the table, as a couple, or with friends.
