Xixario

Xixario is a gastronomic gem in the Basque Country. It is located in Orio, province of Gipuzkoa and is an Asador specialised in grilled sea bream that they prepare on the grills they have in the middle of the street.Together with my friend, chef and influencer Juan de Pausa y Plato, we will discover what to eat in this famous Basque restaurant.

This Asador , located in Orio, Gipuzkoa, is a family restaurant with more than five decades of history , renowned for its excellence in the preparation of grilled fish such as Besugo, turbot, turnip and sole.

Founded in 1963, the Xixario Restaurant has established itself as a benchmark in Basque gastronomy, standing out especially for thequality of its grilled sea breams, considered by many to be the best in all of Spain.

The restaurant offers a traditional atmosphere with tables and benches. It also has a newly renovated terrace where diners can enjoy their dishes outdoors. The grills are visible on the outside of the restaurant.This allows you to observe the mastery in the preparation of the fish, which is a real spectacle... In addition to the sea bream, the menu includes other specialties such as anglerfish, turbot and grilled kokotxas, all made with raw material of exceptional quality. To accompany these dishes, it is common to taste a good txakoli or champagne , enhancing the gastronomic experience.
