Antonio Bar in San Sebastián has a double aspect to its space: on the upper floor it maintains the atmosphere of a traditional bar with a pintxos bar - where a spectacular tortilla pintxo stands out - while after descending a spiral staircase you access a more secluded dining room to eat from the menu.Its gastronomic offer focuses on the local product with a balanced number of marine options and meats, adjusting their prices to the raw material offered.

The main course experience left mixed feelings. The txuleta with potatoes, served in a generous piece for €49, stood out positively for its potatoes, but failed at the grill point by presenting an excessively scorched exterior.For their part, the pickles candied with bacon were too greasy.

In the sweet section, the cheesecake reached the remarkable with a pleasant general impression, in the absence of a more creamy touch, while the traditional pantxineta fulfilled in flavor thanks to its cream, although it faltered in the presentation and technical execution.

With a final bill of €232.80 for five diners not including desserts -which were invited by a family bond ofone of the companions-, the global balance places Antonio Bar as a simple-looking establishment that offers generous and tasty rations.Despite some occasional faults in the cooking and finishing points, it is a recommended place to enjoy local cuisine.
