About Al Baile La Temprana
Al Baile La Temprana has been a pleasant surprise in Oviedo: a place with a decoration that I love (with many references to puppies) and a very own cuisine, based on Asturian product with some touches of Mexican cuisine. I love how wonderful it is to eat in Asturias!
The proposal combines seasonal Asturian product with travel influences, especially Mexican, inherited from the history of the house. In its tasting menu you will find tomato tartare with dates and blueberries, prawn tacos in tempura with kimchi mayo, cochinita pibil bollinas and bulltail millefeuille. The menu is supported by artisan breads, specialty coffees and a winery selected from small producers.
It is in a 19th-century Asturian mansion that survived the bombings of the Civil War, with Indian-inspired decor and surprising corners: glazed gallery, garden terrace with hydrangeas and a "secret" dining room.It is a few steps from the Cathedral, in Corrada del Obispo Square, and can be reached by strolling through the historic centre.
For me it is a gastronomic destination with identity: Asturian-Mestizo cuisine, a very careful brunch and a unique location. With an average price of €25-35, it is a good choice if you are looking for a reinterpreted local product without losing its roots.
