A Viaxe

Finding creative haute cuisine, refined technique and a full tasting menu for around €50 in the heart of Santiago de Compostela seems almost a miracle. A Viaxe ~ Cociña de Matices has earned its place in the Michelin Guide with the Bib Gourmand seal, which distinguishes locals with excellent value for money. It is located in the central Praza do Matadoiro and offers a journey in which Galician products are embraced with flavours and techniques from Peru, Mexico or Asia.I tried its star menu, "Unha Viaxe: 9 Destinations", for €55.

There are 9 passes that work like a real culinary passport. The proposal takes seafood, fresh fish and Galician vegetables as a canvas and enriches them with peppers, tiger's milk, ceviches, curry and international funds.From snacks to pastries, each creation stands out for the subtlety in the treatment of the product.

The space is sober, modern and comfortable, at the gates of the San Pedro neighborhood and very close to the Mercado de Abastos, and the team guides you through each "destination" on the menu. A jewel for lovers of signature cuisine and travellers who want to eat spectacularly well without getting spoiled.
